Teri Yaad (1948): Pakistan's cinematic debut after independence, released on 7 August. Starring Nasir Khan and Asha Posley, it marked a resilient start for Lahore's fledgling film industry post-partition. Directed by Daud Chand and produced by Dewan Sardari Lal, the film, with a soundtrack by Inayat Ali Nath, celebrated its premiere at the Parbhat Theatre in Lahore.

  • Pakistan's first feature fim Teri Yaad (1948) is the story of a wealthy man who leaves his money to his new born daughter and his best friends new born son. But his daughter is killed by the greedy friend. The widow raises an orphaned girl who falls in love with the friends son, which is not acceptable for the widow. She gets her revenge when friend committed suicide and then the lovers are united.
